Dormont Council will hold a special public meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 19, to discuss at least two items, both related to the proposed #1 Cochran redevelopment plan.
Council plans to discuss the proposed agreement with #1 Cochran, which would include a potential land swap between the company and the borough, as well as the points #1 Cochran would have to meet in order for the borough to approve an agreement.
Council also plans to discuss the creation of a committee to organize a tax increment financing (TIF) district, which was proposed as a way to pay for new parking lots and other construction around the #1 Cochran site. If created, the committee would include representatives from Allegheny County and from the Keystone Oaks School District.
Borough manager Jeff Naftal said all documents pertaining to council's discussion will be available on the Dormont Borough website no later than Dec. 12.
The documents also will be posted on Dormont-Brookline Patch.
The meeting will be held Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. at Dormont Municipal Center.
