Brookline Airman Interviewed During Friday's Pens Game
Capt. Geoffrey Dobson of Brookline was one of several members of the military watching the game from overseas.
Geoffrey Dobson emailed his wife, Jessica, earlier this week to tell her he thought he might be on television during Friday night's Penguins game-but that's all he knew.
He was right. Capt. Geoffrey Dobon, a Dormont native and Keystone Oaks graduate who now lives in Brookine, was one of several American troops watching the Pens game from overseas. The game aired on ROOT Sports Pittsburgh.
Dobson is a member of the Air Force Reserve who currently is serving in Southwest Asia, and was interviewed during the game as part of a tribute to those in service.
Jessica said seeing her husband during the game was a proud moment.
"With everything that's been going on, it's hard for us with him being away," she said. "It's great that he gets to do some fun things like that."
It also was exciting for her two young children, Riley and Reagan, to see their father on television.
"The two-year-old yelled 'Daddy, Daddy, Daddy' and the one-year-old was clapping," she said. "They were just really excited."
