Dormont Home Burglarized While Under Renovation

Dormont police blotter, Sept. 14 to Sept. 21.

 

A Dormont home undergoing renovations was the target of a burglary last week.

The owner of a home in the 1400 block of Grandin Avenue told Dormont police he arrived at the home on Sept. 16 to find the front door unlocked. According to the police report, several items were missing, including a Pioneer Receiver and a Sony CD player.

No arrests have been made at this time. Those with information should call the Dormont Police Station at 412-561-8900, ext. 300.

Sept. 14

  • Dormont police responded to the 1700 block of Newhaven Avenue at 8:52 p.m. for a report of a theft from a vehicle. The vehicle’s owner claimed that $450 worth of cigarettes, an electronic cigarette kit and a personal checkbook were stolen, according to the police report. No arrests have been made to date.

Sept. 15

  • Police responded to the 3000 block of West Liberty Avenue at 6:44 p.m. for a report of a man who had possibly overdosed. Anthony Demonaco, 35, of Dormont was taken to St. Clair Hospital and was later cited for public intoxication.

Sept. 19

  • Jacob Amick, 18, of Dormont was charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct following an incident at his home at 1:13 p.m.
