Brookline Man Arrested for Public Drunkenness in Dormont

A Brookline man was arrested in Dormont after two women told police he was harassing them.

While on patrol, a Dormont officer was stopped by two women in the 2800 block of West Liberty Avenue on May 24 at 1:15 a.m. According to the police report, the women told the officer that a man—later identified as Charles Bracken, 23, of Brookline—had been harassing them, and had tried to steal one of their purses.

The police report states that Bracken was highly intoxicated when the officer tried to speak with him. Bracken was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication. He was held at the Dormont police station until he was sober.

May 22

  • officers responded to the parking lot near the 1300 block of Illinois Avenue for a report that someone had broken into a vehicle and stolen an iPod and stereo, among other items. No witnesses to the act have come forward, and no arrests have been made at this time.

May 25

  • Two officers on patrol just after 2 a.m. found a woman lying on the sidewalk near the intersection of Wisconsin and West Liberty avenues. Paramedics transported Lucille Zeiber, 26, of Brookline, to Mercy Hospital for treatment for high levels of intoxication. According to the police report, another woman at the scene, Amanda Frank, 24, of Dormont, began yelling at police officers and causing a disturbance in the intersection. She was arrested and taken to the Dormont police station, where she was held until later that morning. Both women were charged with public intoxication.

The police also responded to a number of noise disturbances, medical assistance calls and parking complaints that did not result in arrests or charges.
