Brookline Is a 'Taco Hot Spot'

Pittsburgh might be known for its pierogies, but it seems that tacos are putting the city on the food map these days.

In a recent article from Pop City Media, the e-magazine decalred the South Hills the "Taco Hot Spot" in Pittsburgh.

, located on Brookline Boulevard, is prominently featured in the article and photos. As Brookliners are well aware, the Mexican grocery on Brookline Boulevard runs a taco stand outside the store everyday. The grill is full of fresh tortillas, ground beef and chicken, and all the toppings—and there's almost always a line at the stand.

Casa Rasta, on Broadway Avenue in Beechview, also is featured in the article for its unique mix of classic Mexican food with a Carribbean twist. California Taco Shop on Saw Mill Run Boulevard in Whitehall is the last hot spot listed for Pittsburgh's new favorite food.
