Bedbugs have been found at a local public elementary school, and parents are being warned to check their homes for insects, WPXI reported Tuesday.

According to WPXI's report, the bedbugs were found at the Beechview school Beechwood Elementary, which is part of the Pittsburgh Public Schools system.

The report states that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said bed bugs don't carry diseases, but their bites can cause allergic reactions in some people.
