A Day in Dormont - Breakfast, Bands and Bars
Slide Show of Saturday's happenings in Dormont.
Saturday, April 28, was a busy day in Dormont. The morning kicked off with the AARP’s Pancake Brunch and Bake Sale at Dormont Presbyterian Church at 8 a.m. The proceeds benefited the AARP’s general fund.
The Pancake Brunch and Bake Sale was followed by a drug take-back event held in the Dormont Pool parking lot. Residents were encouraged to bring their unused or expired medications down for proper disposal. Officer Clark Witucki was on duty to collect the drugs and dispose of them safely.
Silent Partner and Hausen kicked off a live concert series at Hollywood Theater and played to a sold out crowd.
The event was capped off by the Dormont Pub Tour, sponsored by Friends of Dormont Pool. Proceeds from the Pub tour benefitted the Dormont Pool. Locals and their friends packed area bars and a sea of white shirts (the official attire for the evening) flooded Potomac and West Liberty. At 2 a.m., many locals were seen walking ... some staggering ... home after having checked all the bars off of their passports.

Thanks to the Patch and Mike Buzzelli for covering our concert on several occasions!
I cannot thank the people of Dormont, and the fans of both Hausen and my band, Silent Partner ENOUGH, for the unbelievable support on Saturday night! The atmosphere inside the Hollywood was ELECTRIC, as old friends reunited after not seeing each other for DECADES!!! THIS is EXACTLY what I had in mind when I created this Concert Series with the help of John Maggio and the entire Board of Directors of the Hollywood Theater!!!! I have received TONS of kind emails and texts, thanking us for bringing them together with family and friends and many remarked on how beautiful the theater is!!! PEOPLE DO CARE ABOUT DORMONT AND ARE PROUD TO COME BACK HOME AND STEP UP TO SUPPORT THE HOLLYWOOD, DORMONT POOL AND ALL THE GREAT THINGS ABOUT THE COMMUNITY. A special thanks to the Dormont Presby Chruch for the use of their parking lot!!!
ONCE AGAIN-THANK YOU ALL-I'm SO PROUD TO SAY I AM FROM DORMONT PA!
Please consider attending our NEXT Silent Partner and Friends Hollywood Theater Concert Series show at the Hollywood on July 21st at 7:30, when former Dormont resident and good friend, Maroon David's band THE DROWNING, is featured for their new CD RELEASE CONCERT!!! Silent Partner will open the festivities with an ALL ORIGINAL SET then the Drowning will ROCK the Hollywood with their OWN brand of ROCK N ROLL!!! HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL THERE!
